Elyse Skye Ricketts is a multidisciplinary artist in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. She is currently on her artistic journey, pursuing a BFA in Drawing & Painting at OCAD University, with a minor in Material Art & Design. Her creative world revolves around oil paint's rich and versatile medium, conjuring subtle yet sly imagery in reference to mature themes. Elyse's artistic lens responds to the intricacies of femininity, mental health, and the turbulent transition from adolescence into adulthood. Her work is a delicate balance of opposing elements; drawing from fragility, playfulness, and innocence, in juxtaposition with the unsettling, and uncanny. Elyse’s art goes beyond compositional value, as she embarks on a voyage of self-discovery where repressed feelings, traumatic experiences, and unspoken emotions find their voice on the canvas. Through her art, Elyse unravels the stories hidden within her, inviting us all to embark on a shared journey of healing and revelation.

I absolutely admire Coraline; it's been my favourite film since its release. I've watched it so many times I've remembered the entire dialogue word for word and no one will watch it with me currently.

Best season of the year in Toronto

Spring is pure magic to me! It's that time when the world comes alive again, with baby bunnies and skunks hopping around and making their adorable appearances. I love how the clocks spring forward, giving us more daylight to soak up. And being a May baby, Spring feels like a gentle tease leading us into the full swing of summer.
